Presentation
Situated by the breathtaking Jacques-Cartier River, the story of the Site de pêche Déry begins in the early 19th century. Built in 1804, the Déry House faces route 138, the only road from Québec to Montreal at that time. The Maison Déry is a prime example of rural Canadian houses of Lower-Canada. The site celebrates the history of its past inhabitants and of the many travelers who stopped by. This interpretation centre has two stories to share: that of the first toll bridge in Québec and that of salmon fishing on the Rivière Jacques-Cartier.
